Crowns

Our dentists can reconstruct your teeth to make them resistant to further damage. Not only do crowns protect teeth, they can also boost your confidence by giving you a beautiful smile

What are Crowns?

Dental crown is a dental treatment method used to restore the natural form, function and aesthetics of the tooth. By placing a specially designed coating on the tooth, the appearance and durability of the tooth are increased.

It is usually made of porcelain or ceramic materials and can correct various dental problems by completely or partially covering the upper part of the tooth. Dental crowns are used to treat tooth decay, fracture, discoloration, deformity or large fillings and help restore the function and aesthetics of the tooth.

Porcelain crowns are recommended for patients with severely damaged and discoloured teeth. They are an excellent restorative method which can be used to replicate the look of your natural tooth, while making them stronger than before. By removing the damaged portion of your teeth and replacing them with durable crowns created at our state-of-the-art clinic, our highly qualified dentists can give you healthier teeth with increased function.

So, if you have heavily damaged or discolour teeth then you’re definitely a suitable candidate for crowns. Will my teeth get filed down?

Porcelain crowns are recommended for patients with severely damaged teeth. They are an excellent restorative method which can be used to replicate the look of your natural tooth, while making them stronger than before. Before a crown is placed, the remaining tooth must be filed down to accommodate it. By removing the damaged portion of your teeth and replacing them with durable crowns created at our state-of-the-art clinic, we can give you healthier teeth with increased function.

What is the difference between Veneers and Crowns?

The main difference is that a veneer covers only the front of your tooth and a crown covers the entire tooth: hence, crowns are preferred for the restoration of the entire tooth. Dental crowns are a lot more durable making them ideal if you grind your teeth or if you have severe fillings, cracked or worn teeth or root canals. A dental crown can be applied to improve the appearance of your teeth, where there is not enough tooth structure to support a veneer.
